Examination and Promotion Policy

All classes (except X and XII) will have four sets of tests/examinations in the entire academic year.

  1. Assessment I/ Pre Mid Term - July, 2017
  2. Assessment II/ Mid Term - September, 2017
  3. Assessment III/ Post Mid Term - December, 2017
  4. Annual/ Term End - February/March, 2018

No Student is granted exemption from any of the Tests/Examinations.

Results are declared twice in an academic year – after Mid Term in October and at Term End in March.

Weightage to all the subjects for all the Tests/Examinations will be as follows:

For Classes I, II

(i) All classes I – VII will have GK test of 20 marks with every cycle of tests/exams.

(ii) All classes I – V will have computer test of 20 marks (alternately theory and practical) with every cycle of tests/exams.

(iii) @ Entire syllabus after Mid Term Exams (Term II) + 10 % of syllabus before Mid Term Exams (Term I) for class VI

Entire syllabus after Mid Term Exams (Term II) + 20 % of syllabus before Mid Term Exams (Term I) for class VII

Entire syllabus after Mid Term Exams (Term II) + 30 % of syllabus before Mid Term Exams (Term I) for class VIII

(iv) *Components to be assessed:

For Languages (English & Hindi): Listening (5) + Speaking (5) + Reading (5) + Notebooks (5)

For Mathematics: Mental Math (5) + MCQ (5) + Activity/Project (5) + Notebooks (5)

EVS/ Science/Social Studies: Activity/Map work/Practical (10) + Project (5) + Notebooks (5)

Computer: Oral/Viva (5) + Notebooks (5)

In order to be declared ‘Passed’ a student has to secure not less than 40% marks for classes upto VIII and not less than 33% marks for classes IX to XII in every Test/ Examination and 33% marks in components in each subject separately.

For Class X:

(i) Board Exam in March 2018 will be held for 80 marks in each subject.

(ii) There will be Internal Assessment of 20 marks in each subject based on Periodic Tests (10 marks) + Notebook Submission (5 marks) + Subject Enrichment Activities (5 marks) as per CBSE guidelines.

(iii) Co-Scholastic Activities, such as Work Education (computers), Art Education, Health & Physical Education will also be assessed on 5 point grading scale (A to E).

(iv) Discipline (Attendance, Sincerity, behavior, values) of student will also be graded on a 5 point scale (A to E).

(v) In order to be declared ‘Passed’ a student has to secure not less than 33% marks out of 80 marks in Board Examination and 33% marks out of overall 20 marks (Internal Assessment) in each subject.
